FAQs

“How do we show our interest and register our child?”

You can contact Wendover Pre-School via email or a phone call. We will arrange a visit for you and your child to come and have a look around.

Once you have visited Wendover, and you think you’d like a place, we can begin the process! We do not put pressure on any of our families and we make choices based on what is right for your child and family.

Before your child starts Preschool they will have a ‘taster session’. This is a one hour session – free of charge, where you leave them for the first time. It gives you the opportunity to introduce your child to pre-school, meet the staff and begin to understand our routines.

New experiences can be very daunting and scary for young children, so we start slowly and continue at their pace.

At the end of the taster session, we will discuss sessions for your child.

There is no minimum amount, but we do advise at least 2 sessions. This is so that your child becomes more familiar with their new surroundings and can begin to build those vital relationships with the staff and their peers.

“How do I know if I am entitled to government funding?”

We are here to help you access the funding that you may be entitled to!

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours funding, the term after they turn 3.

We will provide the funding form and advise how to fill it out if needed.

2 year funding is also available for eligible parents!

If you are unsure on your entitlement then please visit:

“Will my child get a snack?”

Every morning, we have a rolling snack, where the snack table opens at 9.30am until 10.30am. During this time the children are able to access fresh fruit or vegetables, which they can help to prepare.

This allocated snack time is to experience new textures and tastes, whilst promoting conversation with one another and promoting independence. We often find that children will try new foods if they see their peers and teachers doing so!

We encourage a small donation of 20p per day which can be popped in to the donations tin each morning (or weekly if you prefer).

Named water bottles are essential for the children to access throughout the day. Milk is provided each day, which the children are encouraged to pour themselves.
